Orangeburg, S.C. — The South Carolina State University Foundation (SCSUF) is pleased to announce that it has received a $50,000 grant from Power:Ed, the philanthropy of South Carolina Student Loan Corporation (SCSLC), in support of the Foundation’s Gala General Scholarship Fund.

The grant period begins January 12, 2026, and concludes June 30, 2026, as outlined in the approved grant agreement. The funding will provide scholarship assistance to deserving South Carolina State University students, helping to reduce financial barriers and expand access to higher education.

“We are sincerely grateful to Power:Ed and the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation for their investment in our students,” said Stephen V. Beatty, Chairman of the South Carolina State University Foundation Board of Directors. “This generous grant strengthens our ability to support students who are committed to achieving their academic goals. It reflects a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunity and promoting long-term success for students across South Carolina.”

“Power:Ed and SC Student Loan Corp. are proud once again to support SC State University and its vital work to educate and build the next generation of South Carolina’s leaders,” Power:Ed Executive Director Claire Gibbons said. “This is the third grant awarded to support need-based scholarships for enrolled SCSU students to help them return and persist to graduation. We’re excited by what they will accomplish.”

Power:Ed supports initiatives that advance financial literacy and improve access to postsecondary education statewide. Through this partnership, the Foundation continues its mission of securing and stewarding private resources to enhance student success and support the University’s enduring mission.
